Horizontal wall art and why width works

Horizontal wall art is any piece wider than it is tall. That proportion matches how rooms are actually built. The wall above a sofa and the stretch above a sideboard are both wide and shallow. A wide picture follows that line instead of fighting it. Panoramic formats take the ratio further, past 2:1, and hold their own from across a room.
